One of the biggest problems with text based communication is that it is hard to get a person’s “tone” or intent of a comment or message.

I don’t know Techie or Shannon personally but I do know a few others here, who I respect very much, that speak very highly of both Techie and Shannon. That being said, I am sure Techie and Shannon both had no ill will toward you Becky.

We should all keep in mind that since this form of communication is lacking of facial expressions, tonality of voice and overall body language we need to be very careful how we read into or respond to other’s posts.

While many forums can get pretty nasty at times I can attest that this forum maintains a general respect and concern for the overall well being of others.

Becky, you are not the only one here who has felt that a post has been a jab or attack on you. I have felt that at times as well. The best thing to do is step away and come back later to try to and reassess the message to see if we feel differently. If after that you still feel a bit slighted, just come out and ask if the message was intended in a malicious way. I know that 99.999% of the time on this forum you will find the message was just not read or written properly.

It is like being a part of a big family here. We need to cut each other some slack at times because we ALL are imperfect and will step on each others toes at times. But just like family when we do say or do something that appears hurtful it is usually because we want to help and the message just got garbled in the translation.

I enjoy the posts from Becky, Techie, Shannon and everyone who participates here. Heck! I even enjoy the posts from Tom and Spike. ;-)

No harm no foul? Let’s get back to trading, eh?
