Tom, thanks for the response. It's starting to make sense now. The producers OR processors in control of Comm interest clears things up. And I was forgeting about the Basis/Hedging factor, so that makes sense, Funds following or chasing the price makes sense, too. I really just wanted to get a better understanding of what is mechanically going on with all these hundreds of thousands of contracts trading hands. And like you say, fundamentaly, everything is already priced in. If farmers get a perfect planting season, I don't think there would be much reason for grains to go up in price. With a good polination season and harvest, like last year, it could be a long time before any serious reversal in price happens. If this happens again, we may see $1.00 corn!
