Tom's BIG CONTEST

After a week of pouring over the voluminous responses ... 1 ... it's time to declare a winner. Thanks Dino Dave. I liked your trade, could see the justification for every action number you specified. It wasn't the trade I did, but it's a nice one I could certainly get behind.

I saw the market banging around like a pinball between 1633 and 35 for about 10 minutes, couldn't get lower, couldn't get higher. I bought one at 1636 with a stop at 1631 for 50 bucks risk. If it finally broke out of the pinball wizard 33-35 I wanted to be gone ... quickly. It took off from there, as it broke above 40 I rolled the stop to 37. As it went thru 50 I rolled to 1647. At the break above 60 I rolled to 57, protecting another $100 of the accumulated profits.

Cocoa made a big, powerful run all the way to 1670 and then failed ... big time. I immediately bailed and got filled at 1665. We took home $300.

2 points to focus on in this trade. First, if you are watching a market tick by tick and you see it just ... bam, bam, bam, bam on 1 number or in this case a very tight range, go for it. The range affords an opportunity to jump a high probability trade for next to nothing in risk as you use a stop just below the bottom edge of the range.

Second, in Cocoa, Currencies, other softs especially, once the market has made a nice strong run with little or no pullback ... when those end, they REALLY end. Sometimes you can smell the burning brakes. Always be ready to grab profits thus accumulated when you finally do see the failure. It is very high probability THAT run is seriously over.

Good job, David. I'll send you an email you can forward to Shaggy to claim the credit. Leo, sends his love and asks if you'd like fries with those flowers. (I told him you been takin' 'em. Hope you don't mind)
