I put together an e-booklet a few years back called "How to Get Started Trading Futures" and it will tell you the basics of what you need to know about getting started in the futures markets, but it does need a little updating . When I wrote it the CBOT and CME exchanges hadn't merged yet and at that time I wasn't much in favour of electronic trading platforms as they were too difficult (and potentially dangerous) for the newbie trader to use. However now electronic trading platforms and incredibly stable, easy to use, efficient and best of all, cheaper than broker assisted trades, but other than those two changes I'm sure you'd find the rest of it very helpful.
