I've always been inclined to take the week off and welcome the break because trading day in day out wears on a person... well, me at least. This is the time of year when a lot of traders take a break, so it's always been my recommendation but if you want to day trade you should be able tot ell if the volume figures are adequate to get decent fills. You'll know off the first order anyway. If it slips more than usual on the way in, or if you have a hard time getting out then you'll know the market's too thin.
