What you say is true. This is the biggest fault or problem new traders have with them.

There is a large computer in Australia that researched all sorts of beliefs about the market. Even did extensive research on Elliott Waves. Not a thing on timing or Gann. One thing I found interesting with that research. That pattern trading only got it right about 40% of the time. In fact most any single method of trading got it right 40% time. That is losing.

That tells me these systems are good if one adds just a little more to them to avoid a few of the bad signals. It will push one over fifty percent and with bigger rewards the system is good to go and profitable.

That is .619 tool can not be the sole criteria of any trade is what the computer says. A mechanical non-emotional decision. So one has to add some kind of support/resistance, lines, moving averages, etc. To give them the upper hand.

I choose to use lines and channels. Without going into detail of how I use them here as my posts will be going over that more as I am just getting started on this forum.

One could use a moving average--My personal opinion is it lags to much for me. Then again with my lines--I have added wave principles. Both methods work. One is simple and other more complicated.

I illustrated how I would use moving average on this chart. Notice when the moving average went flat or turned in opposite direction a .619 was available to enter on. Now a trader has to figure a system to exit his/her trade.

As has been illustrated by those on this forum. That some take very small profits and go hunting again. Others want larger profits. Both are very profitable. It is only your mind that restricts how you will trade profitable.

One thing I have learnt in life. There are as many ways to trade as there are many ways to make a living. Since I have met people of meager means and rich that are happy. I figure the same with trading. It is what your sastisfied with.
