If your exiting the trade and decided to give it up, and left the room. Then that is emotions. Your method or system is not complete or your not following the rules. Either way, emotions will convince you to do the wrong thing. Actually, it is frustration of not knowing what to do next. That allows your emotions to take over. Fix the problem, do not complain about your emotions. Emotions are a wonderful thing that motivates us. But let your logical plan carry it out the trade from beginning to end.
If you just left the room to get something to eat or boys room. Well that is a problem that needs addressed to. You decide how to solve it as there are many options to choose from and not one of them are right or wrong.
I often leave the room. Sometimes it does bite me. The way it goes when you turn your head at the factory. Feel lucky it did not take your arm. Or use a stop and it only gets your finger.
I use stops, but they are when I enter the market. And most often do not move them till I exit the trade. Others move them up as the market moves. Make your plan and paper trade it for success. Then follow it religiously.
Emotions or greed to do better. Just take a step back and solve it.
I think you have already as you seemed to answer your own question. Just where to put that stop at now?
