Your post reminded me of something that I should have been sensitive to, namely that the grains (especially wheat and corn) tend to have an inverse relationship with Cattle. Given Cattle's rocket rise on Monday, we could have expected a drop in the grains as a result. Who knew it was going to be such a monster move though?!?
I guess what threw me is that I watch the grains for the move in Cattle and not Cattle for a move in the grains. It's rare to get it the other way around, but obviously the ranchers knew something big was coming!
