Thanks, DD. You're right; effectively calling major market turns can involve a lot of work. I've been aware of Elliot waves and also that there has been a lot of effort by some traders trying to figure out W. D. Gann's methods involving price/time relationships. (A puzzling thing to me about Gann's methods is the question of scale, because - obviously - setting up his angles "properly" depends on the selection of a somewhat mysterious scaled relationship between the price and time axes.) On the other hand, identifying areas of support and resistance is pretty straight forward and yields reliable results, which is why I prefer to confine my efforts in that direction.
