"Tom's Trades" for Wednesday, April 19, 2006

"Tom's Trades" for Wednesday, April 19, 2006

It's booked ... on May 2, 2006 Tom will be presenting yet another CBOT Online Interactive Seminar. This go round we'll be AMBUSHING THE DOW. It should be fun. The event is hosted by the CBOT and sponsored by Interactive Brokers. For the time and instructions to access the webinar you need to visit the CBOT website, click on the education tab and then Webinars. I don't think the info is up quite yet but should be soon ... keep checking. We wanted you all to have an early "head's up".

1: JUNE 30 YEAR T BOND USDM6
We opened up with a buy at 107-20 and exited at -19 losing $31. I bought -21 ... the candle high ... and got stopped at -17 losing 4 ticks, $125. I bought -21 again and exited by choice at -18 dropping another 3, $93. We got a big spike higher and then an even bigger failure finally settling at 107-21. Not a good day for us. I probably should have kept MY mouth shut yesterday ... lol. The close at 107-21 leaves us watching 108-00 and 107-16 for tomorrow.

2: DECEMBER 06 EURODOLLAR EDZ6
We started off the day with a little gap higher and we kept right on going up to .760 where it flat lined a bit. I had .800 as a clear target and an even clearer understanding that if we saw it that would be the high for the day. We did and it was. I exited at .795 bagging $300 for our trouble. I'll trade it again tomorrow off .800 or any of the other TT numbers. I would love to see a retest of .800 and a failure to sell. I will still buy the break above .800.

3: JUNE CANADIAN DOLLAR CDM6
Nothing but more power today. Nothing done. I'm staying with the same TT numbers.

4: JUNE SWISS FRANC SFM6
More power here as well. Tomorrow I'll sell a retest at 7960 that fails or an outright break below 7900. Neither of these is based on any S&R of substance ... well, 7960 is if you go back a ways on the chart ... 7900 is purely a big fat round number play. Keep the stops tight and get it to B/E within 11 ticks.

5: JUNE MINI RUSSELL 2000 ERTM6
I opened up with a buy at 756.90 and away we went. I exited at 760.40 for $350. After the pullback we bought 760.50 and exited at 767.90 for $740. I called it a day walking with $1090. We were above our buying threshold and I wasn't too excited at the prospect of selling given the day we put in. All the numbers from TT weekend for tomorrow. Still only buys at 763 or below for me.

5: JUNE MINI $5 DOW EYMM6
I began buying 11154 which we exited at 11254 for $500. I then sold 11236 and exited at 11242 losing $30. I completely missed the next buy. The Dow was screaming and I was up to my neck in Russell alligators. I bought 11276 at about 1:45 CDT and exited at 11316 for $200. I ended the day right there. All the numbers from TT weekend edition.

7: JUNE GOLD GCM6
I sold 618.50 and got stopped at B/E. That was it for the day. $10 channel for tomorrow and 585 ... yeah, right.
