Pivot Magic Trading (PMT) is a complete How-to course, teaching a Reading-the-Tape approach to day trading Pivot Levels (PLs). On the tape, PLs are the horizontal topography against which we chart the intraday price action - the "chartscape" against which PMT traders trade. These PLs are the same Pit Pivot Points that the BBs (the Big boys, the Locals, the traders on the floor of the exchange) so successfully employ against non-PMT traders. Obviously, knowing how the BBs trade can give you a powerful trading edge!

Q: WHY IS IT CALLED "PIVOT MAGIC";
"MAGIC" SOUNDS A BIT HOKEY!?
I have been an active participant in the Internet Trading Community for many years. The original Pivot Magic article (posted to one of the more popular Trading Forums) was intended to be a single, hopefully thought-provoking, post for friends to discuss. I simply was looking for a short, cutesy title for my contribution, and I thought "Pivot Magic" was kinda cutesy.
If you've ever seen the Pivot Magic Journal posts on Internet Trading Forums, you surely have observed that the PLs most of the time really do describe important intersections in the Price Action. One week I posted about 3 or 4 days in a row of charts which behaved in a particularly uncanny compliance with the PLs. I couldn't resist poking fun and concluded the commentary, "Well, what can I say, it sure looks like Magic!" To further accentuate the joke, I again gave the post the title "Pivot Magic Trading" . . . and the name stuck.
NOTE: PMT traders have at times been heard to mutter under
their breath while trading. These mutterings are
rarely incantations. We are actually reading-the-tape,
out loud!
